Amuru Grade I Magistrate’s Court on Monday committed a 35-year-old suspect to the high court for allegedly murdering a woman.
Charles Obur had appeared before the Amuru Grade I Magistrate, Edward Okot who committed him to the high court after reading to the suspect the charge.
Obur was subsequently remanded to Gulu Central Government Prisons waiting for kick-off of his trial.
The suspect is expected to appear before the high court’s next criminal session.
According to a court documents, Obur fatally stabbed Betty Auma, 35, on the stomach before fleeing the scene of crime.
The incident took place on October 27, 2015 at Alingiri village, Nyamokino parish village in Nwoya district at round 7pm.The motive of the attack remains unknown.
In his statement with the police, Obur admitted to have committed the crime but he said he did not know how he came to do it.
It was the fifth murder case registered in the Nwoya district in October alone.
