Unidentified people last night killed a 30 year old man in Gulu town.
The deceased has been identified as Wilberforce Kilama, a resident of Kirombe village in Layibi Division, Gulu Municipality.
He was attacked from Eden, near the office of the Electoral Commission and Bomah Hotel. The incident happened around 4:00 am according police sources in Gulu who spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorised to speak to the media.
One suspect who is alleged to be the girlfriend of the deceased has been arrested to help with investigations. Police sources declined to reveal the identity of the suspect for fear of jeopardizing investigations.
According to the police sources, the deceased was in the company of the girl when he was attacked. The unidentified girl reported the matter to police after the attack.
The deceased is said to have died of excessive bleeding after his throat slit with a sharp object.
Four people in Gulu town are currently nursing injuries sustained from alleged iron bar hit man. The latest victim is Mr. David Odongkara the director Unifat primary school.
