In addition to Gilbert Olanya, the Kilak North Member of Parliament in Amuru district, it has emerged that police has now also summoned his Kilak South counterparty, Anthony Akol.
The two MPs have been summoned by police in relation to the June clashes between the Madi and Acholi over the land dispute in Apaa, resulting into to 9 deaths, 28 injuries and displacement of hundreds of people.
Apaa is in Kilak South represented by Mr Akol.
Akol’s summon letter is dated 4th July, 2017 and was signed by the Director Criminal Investigations AIGP, Grace Akullo. The summon was delivered to Akol through the office of the Speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga on 7th July. The Kilak North legislator, however, only received the letter July 17.
Police say Akol has to report to CID headquarters in Kibuli on Monday July 14 at 2pm to provide information that could assist police in investigating the violent clashes over Apaa, a disputed piece of land claimed by both Amuru and Adjumani district.
Akol’s Personal Assistant Becky Lakaraber confirmed to this reporter that her boss had been summoned by the police.
Similarly Gilbert Olanya the Kilak North Member of Parliament was also summoned by police on Friday last week. But he did not turn up he was reportedly out of Kampala. Olanya is expected to appear before police tomorrow with his lawyer Nicholas Opiyo.

Kindly dismiss this supposed legal document with all contempt deserved. It’s quite obvious that Museveni has clearly resorted to intimidation as an easy way to grab the Apaa land. This approach must be resisted at all cost.
My take on this is, all Acholi Members of Parliment should STOP Parliamentary work and accompany Akol and Olanya to CID headquarter. At the CID, they should question the unfairness of the inquest by CID. This is to show the world over, that Acholi is besiege but through their representatives, they will stand together when injustice is being perpetrated on any one of them. Sunday following the inquest, Acholi should take over the pray pulpit, Samuel sing and pray to God for their land
Acholi please rally in support of these two valiant son and daughter of ACHOLI. NOT the FAT BELLED Ogenga Latigo from Agoro causing confusion in Amuru. As for others, if they sober enough from whiskey swigging, perhaps they will make supportive utterances.
