Police in Amuru District is holding two South Sudanese nationals over allegation of illegal possession of firearm.
Angello Kiir, 34 and Bol Ngor, 29 were arrested on Wednesday at Palabel in Atiak Sub County in Amuru District, along Gulu-Nimule Highway, with a pistol and 15 rounds of live ammunitions.
They were travelling in a Blue Wish Toyota vehicle when they were flagged down and searched leading to the discovery of Jericho Pistol Number 38319283.
The pair was arrested alongside two other Ugandans identified as Chris Lemi, a resident of Wakiso District and Adam Safi, a resident of Kiryadongo District.
They are currently being held at Atiak Police Station pending investigations.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson confirmed the report adding that a case of illegal possession of firearm has been registered at Atiak under CRB number 67/2020.
