PATTO has produced a number of albums with such panache that you cannot help but feel a part of what he is trying to accomplish. It’s almost a life's work of playing, writing and performing that makes you feel that you are a part of his music and that it was written especially for you, the listener. He is well established, much loved and continues to entertain audiences young and old alike the only way he knows best. Acholi Times correspondence Eunice Lamunu caught up with him for a chat.

Question: Is Patto your real name?

My real names are Okello Patrick

Question: How did the Name Patto come about?

It was combination of my two names.

Question: What were your dreams as a child?

My dream as a child was to become a footballer, but it changed with the environment around me.

Question: - How did you discover that you could sing?

I discovered that I could sing when I joined school choir, it gave me the ability to perfect what I already had, musical ability and talent.

Question: What led you to become an entertainer/musician?

I became an entertainer because I am good at writing songs and people love my voice too.

Question: Do you get nervous before a show?

Sometimes I do get nervous, not always.

Question: To date, what has been your greatest moment and why? Why?

My greatest moment was when I released my first song, it was a big hit and I was so happy about it.

Question: which of your many songs is your favorite?

My favorite song was dug cen; I was passing a message to someone.

Question: What support have you had over the years and from whom?

I am supporting my self, but my fans have a huge impact on me.

Question: What advise would you give to anyone who wants to get to entertainment business?

I advice any one who has got the talent to come on board but if u do not have a talent, it may become hard and expensive without any benefit.

Question: What would people be surprised to know about you?

Am a very simple person and easy going.

Question: If you could collaborate with anyone who would it be and why?

I would love to meet Jamal, he is a great vocalist.

Question: what do you have in the pipe line?

I want to complete my studies so that I concentrate more on my music.
