Mr Rax was born in Kampala in 1986, went to Bat Valley Primary School, then studied in Layibi College for his O-level from where he joined Central College Kawempe for his A-level. After his A- level, he enrolled for a productions course. Mr Rax is one of the best music producer in Northern Uganda. Acholi Times correspondence Eunice Lamuno spoke to him about his music.
Question: Is Mr Rax your real name?
My real names are Komakech Daniel
Question: How did the name Mr Rax come about?
I was given the name while in Bat Valley primary school, I had a very close friend and we were very stubborn, so the students called us two rats, when I started my music in Layibi, I decided to modernise the nickname, so I came up with Rax.
My dream has always been to become a professional producer, at the moment I feel I have not yet achieved my dream; I have just been trained in audio production, attaining the experience now begins.
Question: - How did you discover that you could sing?
I discovered that I could sing through participation in school choirs, since then, I have never given up.
Question: What led you to become an musician?
I had the talent in me, so this gave me the courage to go for it, and the people around me encouraged me a lot.
Question: Do you get nervous before a show?
Am used to performances, so I don’t get nervous before shows.
Question: What has been your greatest moment?
My greatest moment was when I got the award of best producer in Nothern Uganda.
Question: which of your many songs is your favorite and why?
My favorite song is “Miss u Dube” because it made me famous but generally, I love all my songs.
Question: What support have you received over the years and from whom?
I have not got any financial support; the only support I have is from my fans and the radio presenters who play my songs.
Question: What advice would you give to anyone interested in the entertainment business?
I advise anyone who wants to join the music career to have very good reasons for doing that, and they must also have the knowledge of what they want to do.
Question: What would people be surprised to know about you?
That is my secret
Question: If you could work with anyone out there who would it be and why?
I would love to work with Jesus Christ, because I adore him so much, he is my saviour.
