The remains of an Amuru boda- boda rider who went missing early this year has been found in a village in Labala parish in Pabbo Sub County, Amuru district.
Hunters on Sunday discovered the skeleton of Oola Brian who mysteriously disappeared with his Bajaj motorcycle registrationUEJ433Z in June 2016 while reportedly two passengers—all charcoal dealers.
The remains of the deceased were discovered at a thicket in Opiro village in Labala parish, Pabbo sub county Amuru district.
Anthony Akol, the Kilak North Member of Parliament told an Acholi Times reporter today that hunters who discovered the skeleton in a forest informed police and local leaders.
Akol said the remains were taken to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital (GRRH) mortuary where parents of the deceased identified him using belt and trouser he was wearing on the day he disappeared.
Robert Mutebe, a suspect in the disappearance of Oola was arrested in Kampala in October selling the motorcycle of the deceased.
Akol said a decent burial for Oola is still being arranged with leaders and members of his family.
The Amuru district Resident Commissioner, Bilak Jalmoro confirmed that human remains had been discovered by hunters in Pabbo. Mr Jalmoro did not confirm whether the remains are for the Oola or not.
Oola Brian, a 17 year old resident of Pabbo trading centre in Amuru district was last seen on June 8 this year heading towards Opiro village while carrying two commercial charcoal burners.
His disappearance sparked off a fight between locals and charcoal dealers, mainly from Central Uganda. The ensuring fight led to the death of one charcoal dealer while 32 others sustained injuries.
