A court in Gulu has ordered a defiler to compensate his victim.

Denis Wokorach, a businessman was ordered by the Gulu Chief Magistrate  Deogratious Ssejemba to pay a 14 year old girl he defiled 4 million shilling.

Court had that on January 15, Wokorach defiled the primary six pupil.

Prosecutor William Bayo told court that the incident happened when the girl when to pick a photograph of her sister from a photo studio where Wokorach works.

In her testimony, the girl told police that Wokorach, aged 18, commonly known as Abang grabbed her before forcing her to have unprotected sex with her.

The sexual encounter resulted into a pregnancy, court heard.

The underage girl told court Wokorach was responsible for her pregnancy since she had never had sex before.

Chief Magistrate Ssejemba accordingly convicted and sentenced Wokorach saying prosecution had presented overwhelming evidence against the accused.

Ssejemba ordered Wokorach to 4 million shilling to the girl in compensation and additional 700,000 shillings in fine to court.

Wokorach is expected to pay the compensation by January 5, 2017.
