The Gombololola Internal Security Officer (GISO) for Agago Town Town Council in Agago district, Francis Laboke Whisky, is in trouble for illegal possession of live ammunition.

A security led by the police on Monday arrested Laboke from his home in the Town council with 213 rounds of live ammunition and cartridges following a tip-off from a whistleblower.

The recovered rounds of live ammunition include 174 for LMG guns, 4 for Short Machine Guns and 35 for AK47 guns as well as a 6 cartridge for PK guns.

Yunus Sedirumbi, the officer in-charge of Patongo Police Station confirmed the arrest on Wednesday saying that the live ammunition was recovered and being kept at the police station.

She however declined to give more information but instead referred our reporter to the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson, Patrick Jimmy Okema.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson confirmed Laboke`s arrest and said that a case of illegal possession of firearms is being investigated by the police in Patongo Police Station under CRB 179/2021.

He added that Labok was on Tuesday released on police bond as investigation continues.
