The Acholi paramount Chief His Highness David Onen Acana ii has travelled to the United Kingdom (UK), the Acholi Prime Minister Ambrose Olaa has said.

Mr Oola said Ocana is in the UK to attend a trade and investment forum which will take place on Saturday this week.

According to Oola, the Rwot Acana left for the UK and an unnamed businessman yesterday.

The Acholi Paramount Chief is among the 19 cultural and political leaders invited. Others scheduled to attend the convention include Bunyoro King Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I, Opposition leader Winnie Kizza and Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, among others.

Mr Oola said Rwot Acana’s travel to the UK is timely as it provides an opportunity to seek investment opportunities for northern Uganda.

“Acholi is a high potential for investment to Uganda and this kind of forum helps open up the region by selling such information to the global investors,” Mr Olaa said.

The strange thing about this “investment” trip which has been taking place for over 10 years is that the Diaspora community are not involved. It is like some secret meeting which the Ugandan political leaders attend together with some sellout individuals.
