Mr Robert Adongakulu, the Executive Secretary of Gulu Municipal Development Forum (GMDF) has advised Luo students studying in western Uganda to be good ambassadors of the Luo culture.

He said the Acholi people should not think that Apaa people ashamed them culturally but instead understand that the incident was a protest which they should not feel sorry for.

Adongakulu was on Friday evening addressing the Western Luo student Association at Da posh pub in Mbarara during the first Luo night held in western Uganda.

The event brought together Acholi, Alur, Langi, and Luo from Kenya studying in Kampala International University, Mbarara University, Bishop Stewart University, Uganda Martyrs University and Makerere University of Business studies in Mbarara district among others.

Mr Johnson Okili, the patron of Luo United Western Uganda association which is the lead organization for all the Luo people working and studying in Mbarara said that the association wants to keep track of how the Luo are living in the region and also help students who might be faced with tuition challenges.
