Mr Samuel Odonga-Otto, the Member of Parliament for Aruu County in Pader district has said he will back Dr Kizza Besigye if he chooses to run in the 2016 Presidential race.

During a press briefing in Gulu town early last week, MP Odonga- Otto said Dr. Besigye is his preferred candidate.

The legislator urged Besigye not to despair and chose to contest in the fourth coming general election as a Presidential Candidate.

Otto, a member of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party claims that jumpstarting Mr Mugisha Muntu has become a very big problem.

“Because of Muntu’s style of leadership, the opposition is dwindling each day and this will give an easy ride for President Museveni.”

Otto also warned former Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi against running for the Presidency because his bad record.

He accused Mbabazi of abusing the funds meant for rebuilding the war torn northern Uganda after it emerged that Shs50 billion was siphoned from the Prime Minister office.

The demands by FDC members for Besigye to run again comes against a background of three unsuccessful consecutive attempts (2001, 2006 and 2011) to beat his closest rival Museveni for the country’s top job.
