    NRM Candidate Wins Pader LC5 Chair Seat

    Godfrey Largo Oringa, an NRM candidate has been declared winner of the Pader LC5 Chairman seat.

    Oringa garnered 13,060 votes. His closes challenger Intendent candidate John Patrick Otema got  9045 votes.

    Oringa was declared winner at around 4:30 am this morning by the returning officer Pader district, Joseph Omona.

    Other contenders in the LCV race were TDA candidate, Vincent Obutu who came third with 6,054 votes and FDC’s Justine Ocan who scored 2,662 votes.

    In a victory speech, Largo Oringa said he was thrilled by victory,

    Six Councillors Lose Seats to New Faces

    Meanwhile six Councillors in Pader have lost their seats to new faces. They include four directly elected councillors and two female Councillors.

    Female councillor Awere Sub County, Santa Adoch lost her seat to Cecilia Achan while female councillor Puranga, Joyce Akello lost to Agnes Oyella Gladys.

    Former Vice Chairperson Pader district also councillor Laguti Sub County, Welborne Ottober Odiya lost his seat to John Anywar Mugisa while Pader town council councillor V, Walter Okello Raleigh lost to Geoffrey Okumu Komakech.

    Pader sub county councillor, Tabu Santo Bono lost to Jolly Joe Okot whereas Angagura councillor V, Geoffrey Omona Cliff lost to Dickson Ojok.

    Five other Councillors retained their seats including Felix Lawoko (Atanga), Patrick Obua (Puranga), Latoo Rose Mwaka (Female councillor Pajule/ Lapul), Francis Toolit (Acholibur) and Nancy Lawino (Female councillor Atanga/ Angagura).
