A court on Tuesday remanded former Lord`s Resistance Army (LRA) commander Onen Alfred Kamdulu to Gulu Central Government prisons after he was charged with aggravated defilement.

Mr Kamdulu appeared before Gulu Grade one magistrates, Biwaga Sselsa.

States prosecutor Stephen Ojara told court that it is alleged that Kamdulu on Tuesday 10th of January 2017 defiled a five year old minor girl from Layibi central sub ward in Pece at around 8PM.

Ojara said the alleged crime took place in Layibi division, an outskirt of Gulu.

Magistrates Biwaga did not allow the accused to enter any plea before court saying that the accusation against him is of capital nature which can only be presided over by the high court.

The magistrates remanded Kamdulu to Gulu Central Government Prisons until February 10 when he will appear before court for mention of his case.

Kamdulu is former LRA operations director. He was in 2007 convicted for aggravated robbery and served a nine years term jail before being released from prison.
