President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Stephen Odong Latek, the former aspirant for Omoro District LCV seat as the new Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Gulu.

In a new reshuffle announced just two days to the election, Odong was among the 145 RDCs and over 100 deputies who were appointed on Tuesday.

Odong replaces the late Major Santos Okot Lapolo, who passed four days ago after being diagonised with Coronavirus.

Odong was a former member of the Uganda Young Democrats (UYD), the youth wing of the opposition party DP before he crossed NRM. He will be deputized by Tom Oree.

Meanwhile Dusman Okee, the younger brother to  Presidential candidate and DP leader Norbert Mao was maintained  as the Pader Resident District Commissioner (RDC).

Others who maintained their positions in the new reshuffle are William Komakech of Kitgum, Geoffrey Osborn Oceng of Amuru, Susan Akany (Omoro), Susan Akello Ebong (Nwoya) and James Nabinson Kidega (Lamwo).

Oceng will be deputized by Augustine Modo.

On the other hand, Andrew Onyuk has been appointed as the new RDC for Agago replacing Linos Ngompek.
