Pader Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Andrew Leru and the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) were on Tuesday evening arrested by police in Pader over allegations of mismanaging 115 million shillings meant for construction of Atanga market and for a community store in Ongany Sub County.

Pader Central Police OC CID, Thomoson Namanya confirmed the arrest of the officials.

On Friday last week, Milly Grace Arach, an accounts assistant with Pader district local government was arrested in connection with the 115 million. She was still being detained at Pader police when the CAO and the CFO were also arrested and also detained.

Namanya said police will hand over the file to the anti-corruption court since the officials are accused of an economic crime.

When Acholi Times contacted the CAO, Andrew Leru on Tuesday evening, he said he was unsure if he had been arrested.
