Dan Odiya Oola the UPC die hard in Police custody

The State on Monday asked for more time for investigations in the case against Uganda Peoples Congress official, Dan Oola Odiya.

The prosecutor, Patrick Ojara told court investigations into the case against Odiya and his co-accused is incomplete.

Ojara asked for more time for the State to carry out investigations before.

But Odiya`s lawyer Lloyd Ocorobiya protested the State’s asking for more time.

Mr. Odiya is charged with Otto Kenneth and Sam Ojok Oboma in a case in which they are alleged to have played a role in the attack of Opit army detach and the Gulu Central police station early this year.

The three made a short appearance before Julius Mwesigye, a Grade One magistrate.

Mwesigye granted the Prosecutor his wish and adjourned the case to Sept 19 when the case against the trio will come up for mention.

It was the fourth time that Odiya and his co-accused have appeared before court.

How unfortunate that we do not have tribal / regional balance in appointment of Justice and public servants. Look at senior appointees at the District Admin level in the North – mostly Westerners.
