    Three children perish in Pader Fire Accident

    Three children, all members of the same family, have died after fire gutted their grass- thatched hut in Abaneka village, Latanya Sub-County, Pader District.

    The incident happened in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

    Justine Ocen, the District Councilor V for Latanya Sub County identified the deceased children as Fiona Acayo aged 7, Prisca Anena 4 and Priscilia Lakica aged 2 years and 8-months.

    The deceased are children of Innocent Nokrach and Scovia Atenyo.

    Mr Ocen who also doubles as the Pader District Speaker described the incident as unfortunate. He asked police to investigate of the cause fire and bring those responsible to book.

    According to reports, the parents of the children were away at a function when the fire engulfed the house.The trio were buried on Thursday after police handed the body to their relatives. The matter has been reported at Pader Central Police Station.

    In December 2016, six people, members of the same family perished in a similar fire incident in Otudu-Wiye village, Atanga Town Council also in Pader district.
