Major Santos Okot Lapolo, the Gulu Resident District Commissioner (RDC) is dead.
Lapolo died Saturday morning at around 1 am from Mulago National Referral Hospital Kampala.
Lapolo who was the Chairperson District COVID-19 Taskforce was diagonised with COVID-19 in late December.
He was was referred to the Mulago Hospital from Gulu Regional Referral Hospital after his condition deteriorated.
Emmanuel Ainebyoona, the Spokesperson Ministry of Health (MOH), confirmed the death of the RDC but did not give further details.
Yoweri Idiba, the acting Gulu District Health Officer (DHO) who doubles as the Secretary to the District COVID-19 Taskforce also confirmed the report.
