National Resistance Movement (NRM) women who call themselves Oyeng-Yeng pressure group have threatened to protest Amama Mbabazi’s upcoming consultation tour in Gulu set for 14thof July.

A recent media report shows that the former Prime minister is coming to Gulu to do his consultation.

Ms Mary Nyeko who is a member of Oyeng Yeng on Friday said they will move up to Karuma and wait for Amama and even threatened that the over 400 members of Oyeng-Yeng will not give Amama  time to disorganize Northern Uganda.

Ms Laker Susan Onono, Northern Uganda chairperson of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) widows and orphans said they are ready to demonstrate over Amama’s coming adding that Museveni is their sole candidate and has since stood firm for the UPDF widows and orphans.

Ms Concy Oboma, the chairperson Oyeng-Yeng said that they want the district security team to give them the opportunity to demonstrate peacefully.

“Our ears are on the ground. We will hire a bus to wait for Amama before he crosses Karuma Bridge. He never visited Northern Uganda when he was prime minister but he now wants to disorganize NRM members,” She said.

Mr Awany Andrew, Gulu acting Resident District Commissioner who visited the women in Laroo where they were planning their demonstration told them not to demonstrate and be calm.

However, according to sources within security, it has been established that Gulu NRM members who are against Amama have planned to hold the demonstration on Monday in Gulu town.

you do not represent northern uganda and should not prevent people from listening to mbabazi.Northern uganda is backwards in everything under museveni and one would wonder why you keep on supporting him.All the good jobs are given to people from the central and west.northern uganda only gets state ministers and you still die for him.

undressing is only effective if it is justified- for example undressing the Amuru Land grabbing case was justified in all its aspects but the NRM women’s threat to undress is not inline with the suffering of the Acholi people. TheNRM has been behind land grabbing and killing of innocent people. The threat to undress by the NRM women group will turn against them(the women) in the end.
