Mr Otim Patrick Ocaya, a 33 year old resident of Tegwana parish in Pece division, Gulu Municipality was last Sunday (26th /7/2015) arrested by police for allegedly defiling his 15 year old baby sitter girl.
Mr James Asubu, the officer in charge of crime at Gulu Central Police station confirmed that Otim was arrested when his wife reported to police last Sunday that her husband
defiled the young girl on the 19th/7/2015 when she was away from home.

Asubu says statements were recorded from the girl and wife of the accused pertaining the alleged sexual assault on the young girl, the OC crime said adding that police through the police form three confirmed that the minor was sexually assaulted.

He however, says parents of the young girl had not appeared to the police for their statements to be recorded because they have travelled to the village.

He says Otim’s file has been sent to the Resident State Attorney RSA for sanctioning and he is most likely to be charged with defilement.

On the other hand, 50 suspected criminals were arrested from Layibi division in Gulu municipality for house breaking.

The Gulu District Police Commander, Mr Martin Okoyo says in only one week, two serious house breaking cases were reported to police by residents of Layibi division.

He said those who will be found guilty of crimes committed in the area shall be sent to before court for legal action.
Okoyo asked the community to be vigilant and report suspected criminals to the police for immediate action and reduce risks of insecurity.

He says cases on house breaking during nights within the municipality are registered most during rainy seasons when people tend be asleep during the night.
