Sheikh Musa Khelil, the Vice chairperson for the Acholi Religious Peace Initiative has cautioned Acholi people to desist from being involved in election related violence.
Khelil told Acholi Times at his office last week that leaders are God chosen and that the Acholi should not engage in violence because of the suffering they went through when northern Uganda suffered from a two-decade long conflict.
“There are some politicians who are calling Ugandans to cause chaos over the presidential elections but we should resist from such people. We have had enough bloodshed and we do not need more,” Khelil said.
“I am sure that by 2021, people in Uganda will have freedom because God will not leave them alone. There will be a power transition one day and Ugandans will be happy.”
The Acholi religious leaders said that to court is a better option than engaging in violence. He urged the youth not to allow to be used in acts of violence.
“There are many countries such as Libya, Afghanistan and Iraq amongst many where there is no peace because of elections. I urge Acholi youth to avoid being used to cause violence.”

Well spoken Sheik Imam. Let the Westerners and Southerners who brought the NRM thieves to power deal with their EVIL / DEVILS. We should not sacrifice a single son in the armed liberation of Uganda /(Buganda really). We can join South Sudan and really flourish.
