The end of second semester examinations began at Gulu University today amid heavy police deployment.

Police is deployed at the university compound and the main entrance where they are checking every student before being allowed in.

Last week students from the faculty from education and humanity burnt the university main fall over delays  to release results for their first semester examinations. The university subsequently suspended over 1,000 students  from the university. The fate of the students is before the university council.

Mohammed Khalid, Gulu University Public relation officer told Acholi Times today morning that the university is working with the police to check the faculty of students  before being allowed in.

Mr Khalid said only students from the other faculties, excluding the education and humanities are being allowed to access the University for their Examinations which began today until the 29th of this month.

Gulu district police commander, Martin Okoyo, said police is not taking changes since last week’s incident when the students torched the university’s main hall.
