    Woman Killed, One Injured In Gulu Road Accident

    Police in Gulu said the car knocked and fatally injured the four year old girl who died while being rushed to Gulu Referral Hospital

    An unidentified woman on Sunday evening died from her injuries and another was seriously injured in a road accident involving a Toyota Super Custom along the Gulu- Nimule road.

    The vehicle registration number UBA 169 O was being driven by one Ivan Toolit.

    The accident occurred in Lacor Trading Centre in Gulu municipality.

    An eye witness Jolly Kamarisami, owner of the nearby Cool Breeze Pork, an eatery said the vehicle was over speeding at the time of the accident.

    The unidentified dead woman had no documents on her, according to eyewitness Kamarisami. Stephen Okot, 31, from Attiak lost some teeth in the accident.

    Both the woman and the Okot were rushed to the nearby St. Mary`s Hospital Lacor where the woman later died.

    Patrick Jimmy Okema the Aswa river region police public relations officer confirmed the incident  and said the driver of the is at large while his car is impounded at Gulu central police station.

    Police has appealed to the public to help in identification of the dead woman whose body is in the morgue in Lacor hospital.
