One was killed and eight injured on Tuesday last week when a South Sudan bound bus was involved in an accident with a motorcycle rider at Keyo trading centre, along the Gulu- Juba highway.

The accident occurred at 5:30 am.

The deceased, the rider of the motorcycle, was identified as Michael Okello Orom. He succumbed to his injuries after being knocked by a bus registration number UAJ880J belonging to Uzuri company.

The late Okello was riding a Bajaj motorcycle registration number UEC 658A when the bus driver identified as Robert Laziko lost control and knocked the motorist and consequently over turned the vehicle.

Eight of the people on board sustained injuries and were rushed to St. Mary`s Hospital Lacor in Gulu town for treatment.

The driver handed himself to police and is being detained at Gulu central police station pending investigation.

Police confirmed the incidence saying the bus was from Kampala headed to Juba, South Sudan.
