Ten girls from the oil districts of Nwoya and Buliisa will this year benefit from Total E&P scholarships for their ordinary level education.
The beneficiaries were selected by Sacred Heart School in Gulu, St Andrew Kaahwa in Hoima, the District Education Officers of the respective districts and Total E&P.
The 10 students bring to 40 the number of students who have benefited from Total E&P scholarships since 2015 when the scholarship programme was first introduced.
Christopher Ocuwun, a Total E&P Public Relations Officer said the scheme is aimed at boosting the education of the girl-child in the two districts.
The scholarship caters for scholastic materials, medical insurance, accommodation and facilitation of learning trips.
The scholarship targets girls who excel in Primary Leaving Examination-PLE every year.
