    COVID-19: Five Quarantined in Nwoya

    Five people have been quarantined in Anaka Hospital in Nwoya district on suspicion of coming into contact with truck drivers who tested positive for coronavirus disease.

    The five are fuel dealers commonly known as ‘‘OPEC’’ who operate along the Karuma-Pakwach Highway.

    They were picked from Got Apwoyo trading centre in Got Apwoyo Sub County where the truck drivers reportedly made stopovers to buy fuel.

    Patrick Jimmy Okema the Aswa river region police spokesperson says that the suspect are believed to have made contacts with five cargo truck drivers who tested positive for the disease and were intercepted in Pakwach district on Friday.

    Their samples have been picked and taken to the Uganda Virus Research Institute in Entebbe for testing.

    Uganda has confirmed 75 cases of coronavirus of this 18 were cross country truck drivers entering Uganda.
