Two children were last week killed in a bomb explosion in Abuka village, Palabek Gem Sub County in Lamwo District.
The incident at around 3PM on Wednesday afternoon.
Police identified victims as Isaac Ogen and one, Kwigir, both 12-year.
Two other children identified as Sunday Acellam, 8 and Okeny, 11 survived the explosion with serious injuries. They are currently receiving treatment at Kitgum General Hospital in Kitgum District.
According to preliminary police investigation, the children were herding cattle when they picked the object and started playing with it before it went off.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson said they suspect the unidentified object was a bomb abandoned during the period of conflict in northern Uganda.
In January 2017, six children from the same family in Libi village in Angagura Sub County, Pader District were injured after an object suspected to be a bomb went off, injuring them. The children had found the metallic object in a kraal.
