The six persons reported missing after the forceful demarcation of Amuru and Adjumani border have not been found in Prison or hospital as earlier suspected by the Police.

The demarcation of the border that took place last week was marred by violent clashes between the locals of Apaa and those at Pabbo centre  with the  security forces.

Those missing include Ms Akello Helen from Coro, Mr Oryema Denis from juka, Mr Ocen Lamaji from Alony, Mr Kitara Wilberforce from Ponodyang, Mr Rubangakene Sunday and Mr Openy Stephen.

Their names were forwarded to religious leaders who on Wednesday visited and addressed residents of Apaa after the Monday clashes.

Mr Wilson Kwanya, the Regional Police Commander told the meeting Wednesday that the missing persons could be in hospital or among those remanded at Gulu Central Prison.

When contacted on Friday, the police Public relation officer Mr Okema Jimmy Patrick said, “We have not heard anything new on the alleged missing persons.”

The 15 patients in Lacor hospital and 38 people remanded at Gulu central Prison including one woman, all have no idea where the missing persons could be.

Ms Aol Betty Ocan the woman Member of Parliament Gulu on Friday led a delegation of Lawyers headed by Mr Komakech Henry Kilama, and Amuru MPs Mr Olanya Gilbert and Ms Akello Lucy to Lacor hospital and Gulu central prison to meet the wounded and those remanded in attempt to find out more about the missing persons.

Aol said, “Government will have to account for the missing persons in case they are never found.”

Aol said the condition of those wounded clearly shows that government used excessive force on unarmed civilians.

Mr Komakech the lawyer said by Monday 14, he would be able to talk to those remanded and see how to bail all of them out of jail.

Ms Acayo Beatrice, a social worker with African Centre for Rehabilitation and Torture Victims said they will take charge of the medical bills for all those who got wounded in the scuffle.

“We shall also provide psycho social support to all the victims. This is the most immediate assistance we can give at the moment” She said.

This needs investigation from Adjumani. Some of the locals said those shot were taken to Adjumani instead to conceal evidence of security’s killings.

There is an Acholi proverbs which says”Kadi ibut ki Maro ite pii loke bi kati woko” meaning even if if you commit an adultery with your mother in-law it will come out.
Here now we are observing the true character of the UPDF, how can we now believe that in the past LRA war in Acholi Sub Region the lips and Ears were cut by LRA?
We appealed to Madi People to come out clearly and give the where about the bodies of our Six People is buried in mass grave.
