Deputy speaker of parliament, Jacob Oulanyah has called for unity among party members in Pader as the president’s visits next week to campaign in the district.

Oulanya said NRM party members must show unity during the president’s visit in the area.

Like in other parts of Uganda, the NRM primary elections in Pader and neighbouring Agago had its own share of controversies with losers in the elections threatening to contest as independent candidates.

Oulanya was speaking to party members at CCF guest house in Pader town council, Pader district on Wednesday.

He told party members that during the president’s visit, flag bearers in each constituency will be expected to be masters of ceremony. He said this is a strategy for the aspirants to reap from the publicity around the president.

Museveni is next week expected in Laguti Sub County in Aruu County and in Kilak Corner in Aruu South in Pader district.

The president will also be in Patongo town council in Agago County and Kalongo town council in Agago North on 23rd November 2015.

According to Oulanya, the president will spend an hour in each of the venues.

The deputy speaker tipped the Flag bearers to use the opportunity to make an impact on the president so that they are recognised.

He also said that NRM will spend 20 million shillings in each of the rallies, to facilitate mobilisation for the president’s rally.
