High Court in Gulu on Friday sentenced a veterinary doctor to eight years in prison for manslaughter .

The accused went on run and hiding after the death of his wife but was later arrested and charged with murder which was later amended to manslaughter.

Court heard that Zole on March 6, 2015 at Kirombe Custom corner in Gulu municipality killed his wife, Tadusia Lilly, an Assistant Chief Administrative Officer of Adjumani district.

The vet doctors, prosecution stated had, killed his wife out of jealousy after she opted to have an affair with another man.

Appearing on Friday before the outgoing Gulu Resident Judge, Lady Justice Margret Mutonyi convicted Zole of manslaughter and sentence him to 8 years in jail.

The accused’s  children had earlier pleaded before court to have their father back home to look after them.
