A wife to the Lords Resistance Army(LRA) leader Joseph Kony and his director of signals have surrendered to the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces(UPDF) in Central Africa Republic, a military source has told Acholi Times.
The two surrendered on Feb 3. Their identity still remains under wraps by the military.
Acholi Times understands the rebel leaders’ wife and his signaler were flown to Entebbe International Airport on Sunday afternoon and are expected to be flown to Gulu Monday afternoon.
The UPDF supported with technical assistance from the American military advisers have for about six years now been hunting for the elusive rebel leader who is also wanted by the International Criminal Court(ICC) for crimes against humanity.
The rebel leader is reportedly hiding in Sudan’s Kafia Kingi region.
