    Layibi College Student Dies In Freak Accident

    A Senior One Student of St Joseph’s College Layibi in Gulu identified as Peter Owor on Saturday died after a metallic goalpost reportedly hit his head.

    Owor aged 14, died from St Mary’s Hospital Lacor in Gulu at around 11:15PM where he was rushed in critical condition.

    According to reports, the deceased was hit on the head by a falling goalpost which he was swinging on in the school compound.

    The goalpost reportedly came off hitting the deceased.

    An attempt to get a comment from the school head-teacher, Robert Ojok was futile as he did not pick neither return our phone call.

    According to an announcement placed on the radio, the administration of Layibi College described the death of the student as sad.

    The death comes barely a week after Bol Garang, aged 9, and a Primary One pupil of Credo Nursery and Primary School in Gulu town drowned at a swimming pool a Bomah Hotel Limited, a hotel located just 300 meters east of the school.

    Bol, a Sudanese national died in the swimming pool where he and 82 other pupils of the school had been taken to swim.
