John Peko Lugai is to be enthroned as chief of Acholi Palwo clan replacing his late father, Rwot George William Lugai.
Rwot Lugai, the former Deputy Acholi Paramount Chief ,died in July this year from Gulu Regional Referral Hospital after a long illness.
Phillips Okot Ongom, the Prime Minister Acholi Palwo Chiefdom said John Peko Lugai had been selected by the royal council of elders succeed his late father, Rwot Lugai.
The date of enthroning the new Palwo cultural head has not yet been set, according to Ongom.
Peko, 41, holds a diploma in Environmental Science from Makerere Environmental Institute and a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Cavendish University.
He is married with one wife and seven (7) children.
Once enthroned, Rwot Peko Lugai II will become the 11th chief of Palwo Kal clan.
Peko is the Deputy Director of Agoro International Vocational Institute in Lamwo District.
