A Gulu based radio presenter has been hospitalized after a suspected acid attack.

Joshua Oduka alias MC Kash, 29, a radio presenter with Choice FM was allegedly attacked on Monday morning by one Joan Atimango, 24 a resident of Pece Vanguard, a Gulu town outskirt.

Atimango allegedly poured acid on Oduka after a disagreement. Police suspect the duo are lovers.

Oduka said from his hospital bed at Fitzman Medical Center in Gulu that Atimango, a student of Ndejje University, came to his house and poured acid on him while he was sleeping in his house in Vanguard. His medical report indicates his body came into contact with acid of weak concentration.

Atimango reportedly attempted to escape from the scene but neighbors caught her after Oduka made an alarm.

Robinson Okello an eyewitness said residents beat up Atimango before police rescued her.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa River Region police spokesperson, said yesterday that a case of attempted murder is being investigated under CRB 1592/2019.

Okema said preliminary investigation point that the two are lovers and had a dispute over infidelity.

Oduka said he suffered burns and has pain in his chest and neck.
