The outgoing Member of Parliament for Aruu County in Pader District, Samuel Odonga-Otto has been flown to Kenya’s capital Nairobi for better medical treatment.
In a 46 second video posted on WhatsApp, the legislator said he is in Nairobi receiving treatment for injuries in sustained while in police custody. He did not reveal the hospital where he is receiving treatment. But he said toxicology tests have been done.
Odonga-Otto collapsed while recording a statement with police in Pader District close to two weeks ago. He later complained of chest pains.
He was first admitted at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital before being referred to St Mary’s Hospital Lacor, one of the largest private health facilities in northern Uganda.
In the Whatsapp message, the legislator said he was getting better and asked people to pray for him.
