Seven market vendors are in critical condition at Lira Regional Referral Hospital after the truck they were travelling involved in was involved in a road accident along Opota- Omot Road in Wii-Olube village, Omot Sub County in Agago District.
The accident involving a White Isuzu truck Registration Number UAT 400P and unidentified motorcycle occurred on Thursday last week.
The vehicle, driven by one, Peter Oceng, was transporting market vendors to Omot Market in Omot Sub County in Agago District when it lost control and veered off the road.
Police are still investigating the cause of the road accident.
The injured have identified as Susan Apili, Winnie Acholi, Amish Nangaga and Boniface Obong. Others are Stella Akello, Peter Okullu and Peter Oceng.
A case of serious road accident has been registered at Patongo Central Police Station vide TAR 08/2021.
The vehicle was towed and parked at Patongo Central Police Station, pending investigation. Police say an unidentified motorcycle rider was involved in the accident and is on the run.
