A 30 year old woman is nursing severe head injuries after her jilted ex -husband allegedly raped and later clobbered her on Monday Morning while heading home from a night out.
The victim, a resident of Labour Line Parish in Pece Division, Gulu Municipality was rushed to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital in the wee hours of Monday morning in critical condition after residents found her lying helpless in a pool of blood.
Mr Comboni Ojara, the victim’s brother, told Acholi Times on Tuesday that he last saw his sister during day time on Sunday evening where she had promised to pay a visit to a relative who was admitted in St Mary’s Hospital Lacor.
“She even went with a friend to the hospital but the friend was the first to come back home. I was told she later returned home at about 8:00 pm but I didn’t see her. I only woke up to the sudden news that my sister was clobbered on Monday morning,” says Mr Ojara.
He added that when they rushed to where her sister was attacked from, she was found in an abandoned house belonging to the area LCI of Labour line parish Mr Vinancio Acaye lying in pool of blood and unconscious.

The victim who spoke to Acholi Times in an interview with difficulties at her Hospital Bed said as she was going back home at about 2 am, her ex-husband followed her and intercepted her along the way threatening that he would end her life that night.
“He dragged me to one of the abandoned houses while squeezing my neck. He forced me to have sex with him and afterwards he pulled a hammer and hit my head while telling me he would kill me, I blacked out after,” Shs said.
She however didn’t divulge the reason why her ex-husband wanted to end her life although her mother Ms Ventorina Auma said the couple had a long standing dispute in their relationship that made them to end their marriage.
Ms Rosemary Abalo, the acting in charge of the Emergency unit said the patient’s medical reports indicated that she was raped and sustained a deep cut on her left corner of the eyes.
She added that the patient also lost a lot of blood due to the injury but noted the doctors are doing all their best.
Close relatives of the victim said her husband who paid a visit on Monday to the ex-wife appeared strange and has since disappeared from his home.
When contacted for comment, the Officer in Charge of Crimes Gulu Central Police Station, Mr James Asubu said he had not received any reports pertaining the assault case and noted they would handle it once reported.
