Former member of parliament for Agago district and former leader of Opposition in parliament, Prof Morris Ogenga Latigo has won elections in Agago North parliamentary race garnering 14,079 (53.16%) votes.
He was followed by NRM candidate, and incumbent MP, Amos Okot who got 10,420 votes (39.35%). Independent candidate Jackson Ojera Abuju came third with 1,984 votes (7.49%).
In Agago South, independent candidate Edward Otto Makmot won with 15,281 votes (44.84%), followed by NRM’s David Lagen who got 11,541 votes (33.87%), lawyer Okidi Walter Ladwar(independent) came third with 3,147 (9.23%), followed by Charles Komakech Todero who got 2959 votes (8.68%) and TDA candidate Christopher Okidi(DP) got 1,151 votes (3.38%).
FDC’s Judith Franka Akello won woman MP seat for Agago with 36,806 votes (31.68%), followed by NRM’s Lillian Abalo with 19,252 votes . Regina Grace Akullu came third with 3,118 votes (5.13%). Independent candidate Janet Acan came last with 1603 votes (2.64%).
Agago district had a total of 177 polling stations, with 103 in Agago South and 74 in Agago North constituency.
