Nwoya district Council yesterday rejected proposed members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for their lack of Curriculum Vitae.
Curriculum Vitae shows ones experience and academic qualifications.
Among the proposed members whose membership to the PAC was rejected includes Rev John Ochola who served as formers Diocesan Secretary in the Diocese of Northern Uganda and Ochora Ocitti who previously worked with the Non-Governmental Organisation, Norwegian Refugee Council.
Others on the proposed list included Ocitti Okot, a retired teacher and tutor and Naome Odong, a retired procurement officer who worked with TOTAL.
The PAC members were selected by the district executive committee in a meeting held on 25 August 2016.
Nwoya district Vice Chairman Betty Kibwota’s attempt to have the members approved by the council failed.
“We practically found it hard to approve the members in the Public Accounts committee since we do not know them,’’ said Tony Akena, the speaker of Nwoya district Council.
The approval of the PAC members has now been deferred until the next full council meeting in October.
