Retired Bishop of Kitgum Diocese, the Right Reverend Benjamin Ojwang has been discharged from Gulu Regional Referral Hospital after an improvement in his health, his wife, Margret Ojwang has said.
Ojwang, 67, left hospital Friday morning for his home in Pader District. He had been admitted in hospital for close to a month as a result of a stroke he suffered which left him wheelchair bound and with an impaired speech.
Family members say the former Kitgum Bishop’s medical bills were cleared by Bishop Johnson Gakumba of Northern Uganda Diocese and his Kitgum counterpart, Wilson Kitara.
Margret Ojwang says there is an improvement in her husband’s condition and that he is now fully conscious and aware of his environment.
Ojwang will be brought back to hospital for review in after two weeks, according to his wife.
