Two suspected thugs were on Friday night shot dead for allegedly attempting to rob   Umoja Forex Bureau in Gulu Town.

The unidentified males reportedly climbed atop the roof housing the forex bureau with intent of cutting through, but an alarm at the forex bureau went off alerting Moses Oruni, security guard.

In his statement to police on Saturday, Mr Oruni said he shot the suspects after they jumped off the roof and started  to run.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson confirmed the incident and said the thugs were armed with house breaking equipment that included pliers, iron bars and hammers. The equipment have been recovered by police.

The body of the two adult males was transported to the morgue at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital.
