    Omoro District LCV Boss Faces Former area MP, Three Others

    Peter Douglas Okello, the Omoro District LCV Chairperson is facing stiff competition from four other candidates including Simon Tolit Akecha, the former Member of Parliament for Omoro County.

    Okello is the official NRM party flagbearer in the race for the Omoro District LCV Chairperson seat.

    This is the second time Tolit who lost in the 2016 parliamentary election to the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah is facing Okello in the race for the District Chairperson’s seat for the second time.

    Tolit is running on an independent ticket.

    Tolit and six other candidates were beaten by Okello in the 2016 election when Omoro was curved out of Gulu District.

    Others in the race are Damasco Odongo, the District Speaker who doubles as the Councilor V for Lakwana Sub County.

    Odongo lost in the NRM primaries and opted to run as an independent candidate.

    Franscisco Watdok Awori, the Councilor V for Koro Sub County who was fired from his post as Secretary for Works and Technical Services has also joined the race.

    Watdok has nominated as FDC candidate.

    Meanwhile Walter Lamony Canogura has been nominated as an independent candidate for the race of the district LCV seat
