    Police Yet To Summon MP Otto Over Alleged Assault of journalist

    Police is yet to summon Aruu County Member of Parliament, Samuel Odonga Otto to record a statement over allegations of assaulting a Gulu-based journalist.

    Geoffrey Okot, a journalist with Choice FM on June 16 filed an assault case vide 50/16/06/2019 at Gulu Central Police station against the Aruu legislator.

    Mr Okot accused Odonga of punching him from Pece Stadium in Gulu during the FUFA Drum football match between Acholi and West Nile Provinces.

    Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa river region police spokesperson said on Thursday last week that police criminal investigation department is yet to write to parliament to summon Odonga to record statement.

    Okema said the file has already been forwarded to Criminal Investigation Department headquarters for further management. The complainant, Okot, confirmed that he was notified that the file was on Tuesday last week forwarded to police headquarters in Kampala.
