Ker Kwaro Acholi, the Acholi cultural Institution, has mourned the death of Pajule Clan chief, Rwot George William Lugayi.
Rwot Lugayi, 93 passed on Thursday evening last week at about 5pm from Gulu Regional Referral Hospital after battling diabetes for a long time.
Phillip Okot Ongom, the Prime Minister Ker Kwaro Pajule confirmed the passing of Rwot Lugayi on Friday morning.
Ongom told Acholi Times that the Chief was admitted to Gulu Regional Hospital on Sunday morning after developing difficulty in breathing.
The body of Rwot Lugayi is at 4th Division military barracks awaiting burial.
He is survived by 10 children and several grandchildren.
According to the Prime Minister Acholi Cultural Institution, Ambrose Olaa, Rwot Lugai, was the deputy to the Paramount Chief of Acholi, Rwot David Onen Acana II of Payira.
Brilliant Tito Okello, the Pajule Local Council Three Chairperson described the Rwot as a mentor, a honest, and hard- working elder who will be dearly missed by many.
